TimeOut New York called it “one of New York City’s most underrated museums.” In hiring The Boreland Group (TBG), the client wanted to: raise its profile throughout the New York City metropolitan area increase attendance at – and awareness of – its events and exhibitions Strategy:  TBG instituted a multi-level public relations program to reach potential visitors from all five boroughs of New York City and nearby New Jersey and Connecticut, as well as get its message out via regional and select national print, broadcast and online media. Among the tactics it implemented were: Creating and disseminating a steady stream of press releases and calendar listings on Snug Harbor events Pitching story concepts to a select group of major media to garner attention-getting placements Results: Snug Harbor received extensive, positive media exposure in a variety of print, broadcast and online press vehicles.  A prime example: Snug Harbor was featured multiple times – receiving an unprecedented four separate on-air placements during a one-week period – on NY1 News (including this one - http://www.ny1.com/content/108500/snug-harbor-to-hold-annual-girls-- fashion-show). Another example was a cultural profile on Snug Harbor, featuring interviews with the facility’s chief executive officer and lead horticulturist, which aired on WBGO, a top radio station in New York City. This extensive and ongoing coverage enhanced Snug Harbor’s standing as an exceptional New York City cultural destination.
